In the '50s and '60s so much was changing in the world. The technology was evolving. There was war. These changes influenced art and changed how artists were creating. There wasn't the main focus on the subject of the art the focus became the process of art-making itself. Jackson Pollock is an example of this. the subject wasn't the idea it was the process of putting the paint on the canvas that was the idea. It did even transition to performances, happenings, and events (Rush 36).
