As technology progressed and became more affordable more artists were able to use video cameras in their art-making process. For many artists it allowed them to take a step back from traditional art. It allowed them to incorporate their studio art in a new way and not be stuck in one particular way of making art. For Bruce Nauman he was able to explore relationships between his art and his process (Rush 47-48).
